What is your role with OnePoint Patient Care?

I’m the Director of Administration and my job duties cross several departments at OnePoint such as Accounting and HR.

How did you come to work in Hospice specifically?

It wasn’t intentional but I could really appreciate the work that we do here, especially after my brother was admitted to hospice at the age of 36 before he passed away from Colon Cancer.

What do you like most about working at OPPC?

I like the people at OnePoint. There are a lot of smart and hard-working individuals that really care about what they do and take pride in their work to make the company successful.

What has been your favorite or proudest professional moment with OPPC?

After being here for almost 15 years, I can’t say that I have one favorite professional moment but I take a lot of pride in my contribution to keeping the employees happy in the ways that affect them the most…their paycheck.

In what ways (if any) is hospice different from what you expected when you first started?

I was young when I first started and didn’t think much of death so I didn’t know what hospice was. Then, I learned about what we do here and how important the timing of the medications is to hospice patients and it all made sense on why we as a company exist.

Do you have any advice for someone considering a career in finance or HR?

My advice for any career is do what you love and it won’t feel like a job.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I’m a more hands off leader, I trust my direct reports to do their job and have open communication with me. I also believe in work/life balance so I’m open to hybrid schedules at work. The more employees feel valued, the better their work will be.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy hanging out with the kids, going out to dinner and having the occasional glass of wine with friends.
